Don’t move until you see it. Wait till the moment is just right then go for it. Don’t write until you feel it. You wanna give all that you’ve got right there on the spot. Music is the expression of the human spirit at its best. In this lifetime I seek to give all of what I have been blessed to have. I realize that this is a gift that was given and meant to be shared.

I remember singing at the age of 7 in front of the Gospel Chorus of the Beulah Baptist Church from Poughkeepsie NY at the Red Hill Baptist Church in Whitakers North Carolina. My mother played the piano and her eyes told me to open my mouth and sing from my heart. I was at peace. I could hear myself and I could feel my soul glowing inside. Eighteen years later I was still singing from my heart and my finest moment then was a song I wrote called “Thank Your Father”.

Right now I reflect on the words of that song and realize that this is who I am. Recognizing where all my blessings come from. I am thankful. Thankful for all the many experiences music and singing has given me. Thankful for all the people I’ve met and who have enjoyed my songs over the years. Thankful for this lil light of mine…..I’m gonna let is shine.
